For some years now, there exists a growing number of Eucalyptus plantations.

Therefore, the wood industry is confronting a number of huge challenges.

One of them, is being able to cope with the trees well being.

Many of the trees’ illnesses are produced by fungi, specially basidomycetes.

One of the keys to getting good results, is to be able to make an early diagnosis.

That is why, in the microbiology lab, after having done a survey of the different basidiomycetes that are present in the Eucalyptus plantations, a program for the early detection of the infection using traditional and molecular methods is being implemented.
